Chapter 6 - The Debut at the DrakeSix months after the reunion in the bakery, the grand ballroom of the Drake Hotel in downtown Chicago was packed to absolute capacity for the annual Chicago Maritime & Educational Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, corporate titans, and foreign diplomats gathered beneath the sparkling crystal chandeliers.

Standing near the main presentation stage, wearing an immaculate bespoke charcoal tuxedo, was Preston Calloway. His broad shoulders were squared, his storm-gray eyes scanning the room with calm, unshakeable sovereignty.

Beside him stood four-year-old Theo and Eli, wearing matching mini-tuxedos, giggling happily as they pointed to a large telescope display near the stage.

The string quartet played a soft, melodic prelude.

Stepping onto the central red carpet, wearing a breathtaking floor-length dark emerald silk evening gown that celebrated every line of her radiant figure, was Naomi Vance-Calloway.

Her dark hair fell in glossy, elegant waves over her shoulders, her hazel eyes shining with absolute, unshakeable victory, inner peace, and sovereign grace. Down on her left hand rested the ten-carat emerald signet ring—the official Seal of the Calloway Family Matriarch.

A collective, appreciative gasp swept through the five hundred elite guests.

Preston walked forward, meeting her at the foot of the stage. He reached out, taking her hand into his, bringing it to his lips for a long, tender kiss before leading her to the microphone.

Preston adjusted the microphone, his deep baritone carrying cleanly across the quiet ballroom:

"Five years ago, I believed that success was measured by six-hundred-million-dollar deals and high-society titles," Preston announced, his gray eyes looking down at Naomi with pure, unreserved reverence. "And then I met a woman who taught me that true wealth belongs to love, courage, and unbroken truth."

He raised his champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To Naomi!" the entire room echoed in a warm, triumphant chorus, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
