Chapter 7 - Unbroken and Forever HomeAt 8:30 PM, the private terrace was illuminated by dozens of soft, twinkling fairy lights strung through the oak trees.

Damon led me toward the edge of the stone balustrade, holding a small velvet box in his broad palm.

He opened the box flat before me, revealing a delicate gold necklace holding a platinum pendant engraved with six words: FOREVER SAFE, MY SOVEREIGN CLARA VANCE.

Tears of pure, weightless joy welling in my eyes, I reached out, tracing my fingers over the engraved words, looking up into his dark, loving face.

"I had it crafted by the finest jeweler in Milan, Clara," Damon revealed softly, his storm-gray eyes burning with an eternal, unshakeable devotion. "So that you will never doubt where you belong again."

I threw my arms around his neck, pulling his handsome face down to mine in a deep, passionate, unhurried kiss that sealed our future forever under the twinkling stars.

"I love you, Damon," I whispered against his lips.

"I love you, Clara," Damon swore back, his deep baritone carrying the weight of an absolute, unbroken covenant. "Forever and always."

Across the dark, sparkling blue waters of Lake Michigan, brilliant bursts of gold, sapphire, and silver fireworks exploded into the night sky, illuminating the smiling faces of our guests gathered on the lawn below.

Standing under the vast, unbroken sky, wrapped in the arms of the man who loved every inch of my body and soul, holding my head high, I knew that my life, my heart, and my future were finally, beautifully, and forever home.
