Chapter 5 - The Execution of the PastTyler’s bloodshot eyes bulged out of his head as the name Moretti registered in his brain. His knees trembled violently, his sweat-stained collar soaking through as he realized the apocalyptic scale of his mistake.

"M-Moretti...?" Tyler squeaked, his voice cracking into a high, pathetic panic. "Look... Mr. Moretti... there's been a mistake! Her stepfather sent me! She stole money from our family trust in Columbus!"
Dante pulled a red legal folder from his jacket, dropping it flat onto the table.
"Your stepfather, Harold Vance, was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation two hours ago in Ohio," Dante revealed deadpan. "Along with your entire syndicate leadership."
Tyler gasped, his jaw sagging open in horror.
"My legal team unsealed Harold’s illegal insurance proxies," Dante continued smoothly. "Every asset your family accumulated through extortion has been permanently seized by the federal courts. You have zero money, zero influence, and zero allies left in the United States."
I stepped forward from my chair, standing beside Dante, looking down at the man who had terrorized my mother and me for five years.
For the first time in my life, I felt no fear. I felt no urge to run. I held my head high, standing tall under the bright Greek sky, carrying the unbroken dignity of a woman who had conquered her past.
"You spent six months tracking me, Tyler," I said, my voice clean, steady, and sharp as diamond. "Hoping to drag me back to a grave in Columbus. But you forgot one thing."
Tyler looked up at me, weeping tears of pure, pathetic terror. "Emily... please... we're family..."
"You are not my family, Tyler," I replied deadpan. "You are just a shadow I left behind."
Dante stood up from the table, placing his broad hand over mine, looking at Lorenzo.
"Take Tyler and his men to the harbor patrol," Dante commanded cleanly. "Transfer them to the federal authorities waiting at the embassy in Athens."
"Yes, Don Moretti!" Lorenzo replied, driving Tyler’s groveling frame out through the double doors as his three enforcers surrendered quietly.

The quiet, sunlit terrace of Bella Vista returned to a peaceful silence, save for the hum of the cicadas and the distant sound of waves crashing against the rocks below.
Dante turned to me, his dark eyes filled with a deep, weightless pride that lit up his features. He reached out, pulling me close against his broad chest, holding me flush against his beating heart under the open sky.
