Chapter 7 - Unbroken and Forever HomeAt 8:30 PM, as the spring sun dipped below the Long Island horizon, painting the sky in sweeping tapestries of indigo and gold, the private terrace was illuminated by dozens of soft, twinkling fairy lights.

Leo raised his champagne glass toward our table, his deep baritone carrying cleanly across the quiet grounds.
"To Don Dante and Donna Cara Moretti!" Leo toasted with deep, genuine pride. "The sovereign leaders who rebuilt our family with unbroken strength, truth, and eternal love!"
"To Dante and Cara!" the entire terrace echoed in a warm, triumphant chorus, dozens of crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
Dante raised his glass, taking a slow sip of fine wine, holding me tight against his beating heart under the vast, open sky.
The acoustic band began playing a slow, romantic melody that drifted through the quiet evening air, mixing with the gentle sound of the ocean waves crashing against the stone pier below.
Dante took my hand, guiding me out onto the center of the stone terrace under the twinkling fairy lights, sweeping my body into a smooth, effortless turn beneath the stars.
"Do you trust me now, Cara?" Dante asked softly, his storm-gray eyes holding mine with an eternal, unshakeable heat.
"I trusted you the moment you remembered my name in the mud, Dante," I whispered back, leaning my face against his broad chest, listening to his heart beat strong and steady beneath his tuxedo.
There were no corrupt wives sabotaging mountain cars. There were no fake precinct reports hiding my father's sacrifice. There were no tears swallowed in quiet restaurant kitchens.

The lonely, invisible waitress was dead forever. The sovereign matriarch had claimed her throne.
And standing under the vast, unbroken sky, wrapped in the arms of the man who loved every inch of my body and soul, holding my head high, I knew that my life, my heart, and my future were finally, beautifully, and forever home.
