Chapter 1: The Shattered Bedroom Door and the Spark of Cold Fury

Liam, the man I had loved, supported, and built a life with for three long, devoted years, was lying naked in the middle of our bed. He wasn't alone. The woman sprawled beside him, her head resting lazily against his bare shoulder, had long, pale blonde hair almost identical to my own—a striking resemblance that made my chest constrict with sudden, suffocating nausea. It was my younger sister, Amber. For one impossible, fractured second, my brain completely refused to accept what my eyes were seeing. The sheer betrayal was so monumental, so incomprehensible, that my mind buffered like a crashing computer. Then, moving on pure autopilot, my shaking fingers pulled my smartphone from my coat pocket, opened the camera app, and captured the glaring flash of photographic evidence. The sharp electronic click echoed loudly through the quiet room like a gunshot.
"What the hell are you doing?" Liam shouted, scrambling upright in a blind panic, frantically grabbing for the discarded sheets and his clothes scattered across the floor. "Luna, wait! Stop! I can explain everything!" Amber didn't even bother to rush or hide her nakedness. She calmly pulled my favorite silk robe around her shoulders, tied the sash in a leisurely bow, and smiled up at me as casually as if we had just bumped into each other over morning coffee in the kitchen. "Hey, sis," she drawled, her voice dripping with venomous amusement. "You're home early." Something deep inside my chest shattered at that exact moment. It wasn't my heart—that fragile thing had already been pulverized into fine dust the second I saw them together. It was whatever polite restraint, fear, and hesitation had been holding back my absolute, unadulterated rage.

"Get out," I whispered, my voice sounding terrifyingly calm, devoid of all tears or pleading. Amber stepped closer to the edge of the bed without a single trace of shame or remorse. "He came to me, Luna," she said with a smug, triumphant smirk that made my blood boil. "I didn't steal him away from you. He was sick and tired of you months ago. You're predictable, safe, and boring. I'm the exciting one." My vision blurred around the edges, not because I was on the verge of crying, but because a blinding red haze of pure fury had overtaken my mind. I grabbed the nearest decorative throw pillow and hurled it directly at Liam’s face with all my strength. Then another. Then the heavy ceramic bedside lamp, which smashed against the wall behind them in an explosion of porcelain and sparks. "Get out of my house!" I screamed, my voice finally breaking through the silence. They stumbled backward toward the door in utter terror, Liam struggling to pull his trousers up over his legs while Amber gave me one last victorious, mocking grin before vanishing down the hallway.
The apartment fell instantly into a heavy, suffocating silence. I collapsed onto the floorboards, pulling my knees to my chest, and cried until my throat was raw, my eyes burned, and there were no tears left to shed—sitting there alone on the cold floor until the pale, sickly light of sunrise crept slowly through the sheer curtains I had forgotten to close the night before.
