Chapter 7 - A New DawnThe warehouse lights buzzed overhead as Lorenzo rushed forward, cutting the ropes binding Maya’s wrists. The moment she was free, she didn't care about the guards or the blood or the wreckage around them—she threw her arms around Lorenzo’s neck, burying her face in his shoulder as the adrenaline finally crashed.

"I told you," Lorenzo whispered into her hair, holding her tightly against him as if he would never let go, "I protect what is mine."
Three months later, the city looked different from the terrace of Lorenzo’s newly secured Manhattan penthouse. The danger hadn't entirely vanished, but Lorenzo had dismantled Viktor's syndicate piece by piece, ensuring a lasting peace.
Maya stood by the glass railing, a cup of coffee in hand, looking out over the skyline. Footsteps approached, followed by a pair of small, eager arms wrapping around her waist.
"Good morning, Maya!" Matteo chirped in bright, fluent English, grinning up at her.
"Good morning, little man," she smiled, ruffling his curls just like she had that day in Central Park.
Strong arms wrapped around her from behind, pulling her back against a warm, familiar chest. Lorenzo rested his chin on her shoulder, kissing her cheek softly.
