Chapter 6 - The Siege at the DocksLorenzo received the video message within the hour. The screen showed Maya bound to a chair, defiant even in captivity. The coordinates of the abandoned warehouse flashed at the bottom of the screen.

Without a second thought, Lorenzo mobilized his entire security network. He didn't send his men in first; he drove the lead car himself, his heart hammering with a terror he hadn't felt since the day he thought he might lose Matteo.
When Lorenzo's convoy breached the warehouse gates, chaos erupted. Gunfire echoed off the corrugated metal walls as Lorenzo and his loyal guards fought their way through Viktor's mercenaries. Every step forward was paid for in blood and grit, driven by a singular, consuming focus: Maya.
Kicking open the heavy inner office door, Lorenzo found Viktor holding a pistol to Maya’s head.
"Drop your weapon, Lorenzo!" Viktor screamed, his voice cracking with panic as he realized his men were falling. "One twitch and she dies!"
Lorenzo lowered his gun slightly, his eyes locked not on the weapon pointed at him, but on Maya’s terrified yet resolute eyes.
"Let her go, Viktor," Lorenzo said, his voice terrifyingly calm. "This is between you and me. She has nothing to do with this war."

"She chose her side when she fell for you," Viktor hissed, tightening his finger on the trigger.
In a split second of calculated precision, Lorenzo didn't plead—he drew a hidden backup piece with blinding speed and fired. The bullet struck Viktor clean in the shoulder. The gun clattered to the floor, and Lorenzo's guards rushed in, subduing Viktor instantly.
