Chapter 6 - The Festival of the Emerald CrownIn late September 2026, ten months after that unforgettable morning at the Moretti Tower, the grand auditorium of the Plaza Hotel in Chicago was packed to absolute capacity for the inaugural Claire Bennett Heritage & Corporate Integrity Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.

Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing a breathtaking floor-length dark emerald silk evening gown that celebrated her tall, radiant figure, was Donna Claire Bennett Moretti.

Around her neck hung her late father's vintage silver signet pendant, her dark hair falling in glossy waves over her shoulders, her hazel eyes burning with absolute, unshakeable victory, inner peace, and sovereign grace.

Beside the stage stood Bridget Colton, Julian Bennett, and chief security director Marcus Vance.

I adjusted the microphone, my deep, resonant baritone—metaphorically speaking, my clear, silver voice—echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:

"Ten months ago, a man believed he could break his promises, hand his wife's gifts to another woman, and strip her family's legacy away without consequence," I announced to the silent room, my hazel eyes shining with genuine, unshakeable strength. "And on that day, I learned that a woman's true power isn't measured by the man standing beside her... it is measured by her courage to walk away, reclaim her truth, and build an empire of her own."

I held my champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To truth, integrity, and unbroken freedom!"

"To Chairwoman Claire Bennett Moretti!" the entire room erupted into a warm, unanimous standing ovation, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
