Chapter 4 - The Fall of the ConspiratorsSophia Reynolds jumped up from her chair, her face contorted in a mask of manic, hysterical rage. "That's a lie! Vincent owns this company! Claire is just a jealous housewife who's mad because Vincent helped my son!"

"Silence, Miss Reynolds," Lead Prosecutor Rachel Hayes commanded cold and flat, tapping a digital tablet screen that projected live financial records onto the boardroom's central presentation monitors.
The entire board watched in total, speech-bound horror as certified forensic audit reports filled the screens:
CORPORATE FRAUD: Over five years, Vincent Moretti had systematically concealed thirty-five million dollars in dividends belonging to Claire Bennett, using those funds to subsidize Moretti family debts and purchase luxury real estate.
THE MISTRESS'S FUND: Over two point four million dollars of Claire’s inherited dividends had been illegally transferred directly into a private account registered under Sophia Reynolds to cover her personal legal fees, luxury shopping, and private school tuitions for her son.
A collective, horrified gasp swept through the twenty board members.
Primary investor Lord Arthur Sterling stood up, his face thunderous with rage as he looked at Vincent. "Vincent... you stole from your own wife’s inheritance to fund your business and your mistress?!"
"Lord Sterling! Listen to me!" Vincent begged, his hands thrashing frantically as tears of pure, agonizing terror spilled down his face. "It was a corporate restructuring! I was going to transfer the shares to her on her thirty-first birthday!"
"Your thirty-first birthday promise expired the second you left her to take a rideshare to the emergency room while you transferred her money to Miss Reynolds, Mr. Moretti," Bridget Colton countered with a razor-sharp smile.
Prosecutor Hayes pulled two heavy steel handcuffs from her briefcase.
"Vincent Moretti and Sophia Reynolds," Prosecutor Hayes declared. "You are under arrest for Corporate Wire Fraud, Grand Larceny, and Systemic Embezzlement."

The cold steel cuffs locked tightly around Vincent and Sophia’s wrists behind their backs.
Sophia shrieked hysterically, weeping pathetic, desperate tears as she was dragged toward the door by federal marshals. Vincent thrashed in his bonds, looking at me with bloodshot, groveling eyes, begging for a second chance as he was led past his staring employees in total, public disgrace.
