Chapter 7 - Unbroken and Forever HomeAt 8:30 PM, as the spring sun dipped below the Chicago horizon, painting the sky in sweeping tapestries of indigo and gold, the private terrace was illuminated by dozens of soft, twinkling fairy lights.

The four boys ran up the marble steps, their faces bright with happiness, throwing their small arms around my legs.
I dropped onto my knees flat on the stone floor, pulling all four of my sons into my broad arms, kissing their foreheads one by one as they giggled happily.
"Daddy!" the smallest one—Leo—chimed brightly, reaching into his pocket and pulling out the same worn photograph of Sofia. "Look! Mommy is smiling at us!"
I looked down at the photograph of my late wife, feeling her presence warm and clear beside us under the starry sky.
"She is smiling because you are safe, my son," I whispered gently, stroking his dark curls. "She is smiling because we are together."
The acoustic band began playing a soft, majestic melody that drifted through the quiet night air, mixing with the gentle breeze rustling through the oak trees.
There were no corrupt brothers plotting in dark rooms. There were no hitmen lurking on coastal roads. There were no tears swallowed in windowless basements.
