Chapter 6 - The Liquidation of the VancesBy noon, the news of the raid on Vance Bioresearch had detonated across Texas financial and legal networks like a nuclear warhead.

The headlines dominated every major outlet: SOUTHLAKE DEVELOPER JULIAN VANCE AND BROTHER ARRESTED IN MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR BLACK-MARKET MEDICAL SYNDICATE.

Under federal asset forfeiture statutes, every account, property, and asset registered under Julian’s and Marcus’s names was immediately frozen by the Department of Justice.

Three weeks later, I sat inside the high-ceilinged conference room of the Federal District Court in Dallas alongside my legal team and Detective Elena Vance.

Across the table sat Julian, Marcus, and Vanessa, all wearing orange institutional jumpsuits, their hands and ankles bound in heavy iron shackles.

Julian looked hollowed out. His handsome face was pale, sunken, and covered in dark stubble. He couldn't even meet my eyes.

Their lead public defender cleared his throat, holding a thick plea agreement.

"My clients are prepared to enter an unconditional guilty plea to federal charges of conspiracy, illegal human experimentation, and wire fraud," the attorney announced quietly. "In exchange, we are requesting the prosecution recommend a minimum forty-year sentence without parole."

Elena looked at me, giving me a subtle nod.

I leaned forward, resting my forearms on the polished mahogany table, looking straight into Julian's hollow eyes.

"The plea is accepted," I spoke cleanly, my voice echoing off the glass walls, "on one condition."

Julian raised his head, his lips trembling. "What... what condition, Sofia?"

"The Southlake estate, the commercial land holdings, and the secondary investment trusts," I declared, my baritone steady and absolute, "are permanently transferred to the Sofia Vance Foundation for Victims of Medical Exploitation."

Julian’s mouth opened, but no sound came out. He looked at his lawyer, then back at me, realizing with absolute, terrifying clarity that every dollar he had stolen from my body would spend the next fifty years saving the women he had tried to destroy.

He slowly bowed his head, his tears spilling onto his orange jumpsuit, as he signed his name across the bottom line: Julian Vance.
