Chapter 7 - A New DawnTwo years later.

The morning sun poured through the glass panes of the Moretti estate conservatory, warming the vibrant green orchids and filling the air with the scent of fresh coffee and blooming flowers.
Down by the stone fountain, five-year-old Leo Moretti was laughing hysterically as he chased a golden retriever puppy across the manicured lawn.
I sat on a wooden garden bench, sipping my coffee while a small, newborn baby girl slept peacefully in a bassinet beside me, her tiny chest rising and falling in steady rhythm.
Heavy arms wrapped around my waist from behind, and a familiar, deep voice murmured into my hair.
“What are you smiling about?”
I leaned back against Ricardo’s broad chest, smiling as I watched our son tackle the puppy into a pile of autumn leaves.
“I was just thinking about the night we met,” I said softly, turning my head to kiss his cheek. “If the manager at Il Verano hadn't been such a coward, I never would have lost my job.”
Ricardo chuckled, wrapping his arms tighter around me, pressing his chin against my shoulder.
“If he hadn't fired you, I would have had to invent an excuse to drag you into my car anyway,” Ricardo admitted, a warm, genuine smile touching his lips.
“You really would have, wouldn't you?” I laughed.

“Absolutely,” he replied without hesitation, kissing my forehead before looking out over the sunlit gardens where our children played in absolute peace and safety.
The shadows of the past were gone, washed away by time, courage, and an unshakeable love. The mafia boss had found his redemption, and for the first time in my life, I had finally found my way home.
