Chapter 7 - The Brightest HorizonThe sun dipped below the horizon, painting the evening sky in vibrant shades of amber, violet, and deep rose.

The family estate had been sold months ago, the proceeds distributed to charitable foundations supporting victims of domestic psychological abuse and financial fraud. In its place, Clara had purchased a peaceful, sunlit villa on the outskirts of the city—a home filled with fresh flowers, acoustic guitar music, and genuine laughter rather than cold marble and whispered threats.

Madison and Clara raised their glasses instantly, their eyes shining with bright, unclouded tears of joy.

"To new beginnings," they echoed in unison.
We clinked our glasses together, the clear, harmonious ring echoing softly into the warm evening breeze. I took a sip, letting the crisp, sweet taste wash over me. For the first time in my twenty-two years of life, the future didn't feel like a trap waiting to be sprung. It felt wide open, beautiful, and entirely my own.
