Chapter 6 - The Final SignatureThe scratch of the pen against the paper sounded abnormally loud in the silent nursery.

Adrian's hand shook so violently he had to pause twice to grip the pen tighter. Every stroke of ink was a formal execution of his former life—his wealth, his status, his fraudulent empire, and his children.
When he finished, he didn't look up. He let the pen slip from his fingers, clattering softly against the hardwood floor.
"Are you satisfied?" he whispered, his voice broken beyond repair.
I picked up the folder, checked the signature against the notary stamp, and closed it firmly.
"I'm not satisfied, Adrian," I said, turning my back on him to look down at my sleeping sons. "I'm just getting started."
Two security guards stepped into the nursery silently, grabbing Adrian by his shoulders and lifting him effortlessly to his feet. He didn't fight back. He didn't protest. He let them guide him out of the room, down the stairs, and out of our lives forever.
When the front door clicked shut downstairs, the heavy, oppressive shadow that had hung over the house for months finally lifted completely.
My father appeared in the doorway, leaning against the frame with his arms crossed, a quiet, proud smile on his face.
"Well handled, sweetheart," he murmured softly.
I turned back to the bassinets, gently stroking Ethan's tiny cheek. "How are the corporate restructuring papers looking for Monday?"

My father chuckled, stepping into the room and placing a hand gently on my shoulder. "Sterling Global has officially absorbed Vale Enterprises into our primary portfolio. We're renaming the division The Triad Group—in honor of three very resilient young men."
I smiled, a genuine, radiant smile that reached all the way to my eyes.
