Chapter 7 - Unbroken and Forever HomeOver three hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court judges, corporate partners, and close friends gathered around white-linen tables set up along the stone patio, enjoying fine food and live acoustic music.

I stood near the marble balustrade wearing a breathtaking, floor-length ivory silk wedding gown designed to celebrate every curve of my figure. My dark hair fell in glossy waves over my shoulders, my hazel eyes shining with absolute, unshakeable victory.

Down on my left hand rested my original platinum wedding band, set beside the ten-carat emerald-cut diamond ring.

Seventeen-month-old Leo and Sophia sat happily in a double velvet stroller beside us, giggling as Silvio held up a wooden toy sailboat he had carved for them.

Alessandro walked out onto the terrace wearing an immaculate black tuxedo, stepping up behind me, wrapping his broad, warm arms around my waist, pulling my back flush against his solid chest.

He pressed a sweet, lingering kiss against my temple, his storm-gray eyes shining with an absolute, unshakeable devotion.

"What are you thinking about, my queen?" Alessandro whispered softly into my ear.

I looked out over the vast, sparkling blue waters of Lake Michigan stretching before us into the unbroken horizon, feeling a deep, weightless peace settle into every corner of my soul.

"I was thinking about a television screen in Boston," I answered softly, turning in his arms to rest my hands against his broad chest. "When a Don told the world his wife would come back."

Alessandro offered a rare, breathtaking smile—a look of pure, eternal love that lit up his severe, handsome face.

"She didn't just come back, Elena," Alessandro promised, leaning down to press his lips softly, fiercely against mine in a deep, unhurried kiss. "She brought me back to life."

Silvio raised his champagne glass toward our table, his deep baritone carrying cleanly across the quiet grounds.

"To Don Alessandro, Donna Elena, Leo, and Sophia Moretti!" Silvio toasted with deep, genuine pride. "The sovereign family who rebuilt an empire with unbroken strength, truth, and eternal love!"

"To the Moretti family!" the entire terrace echoed in a warm, triumphant chorus, dozens of crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.

Across the dark, sparkling blue waters of Lake Michigan, the evening sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in sweeping tapestries of indigo, gold, and deep sapphire.

There were no arrogant mistresses walking down red carpets. There were no hidden wives walking three paces behind in dark garages. There were no tears swallowed in quiet apartments.

The cold, distant Don was dead forever. The sovereign father and husband had claimed his true home.

And standing under the vast, unbroken sky, wrapped in the arms of the man who loved every inch of my body and soul, holding our children safe in our hands, I knew that my life, my heart, and my family were finally, beautifully, and forever home.
