Chapter 5 - The Corporate ExecutionBy Monday morning, the financial news networks in New York and Boston were in a state of absolute frenzy.

BREAKING: HAN GLOBAL ACQUIRES CONTROLLING DEBT OF PARK ATLANTIC HOLDINGS; ASSETS FROZEN AMID AUDIT.

Inside the Park Atlantic headquarters in Boston, absolute chaos reigned. Nathan’s father, a formidable shipping tycoon who had built his empire on aggressive expansion, sat at his mahogany desk staring at a foreclosure notice signed by Han Global Capital.

The ports in New Jersey and Boston—the very ports Nathan had boasted about during his engagement to Ava—were locked down by federal customs inspectors acting on compliance audits filed anonymously by Han Global’s legal team.

Nathan burst into his father's office, his face pale, his tie undone. "Dad, the banks are calling! They're saying Kian Han called in the entire credit line! We have forty-eight hours before bankruptcy court!"

"Who is Kian Han?!" his father roared, slamming his fist onto the desk. "Why is a Manhattan multi-billionaire systematically dismantling our entire supply chain overnight?!"

Nathan couldn't answer. He sank into a leather chair, his mind flashing back to the gala on Friday night, to Ava standing beside Kian in that liquid-gold gown, looking at him with absolute pity.

It wasn't a coincidence. It wasn't bad market luck.

Ava had gone straight to the top predator in New York and unleashed him.

His phone buzzed on the desk. A text message from an unknown number.

“You picked my sister? Bet. You gon regret this.”

Nathan stared at the screen, the blood draining completely from his face as he realized the full, terrifying scope of what he had thrown away.
