Chapter 7 - ForeverSix months later.

The sun hung low over the Atlantic, casting a warm, golden glow across the manicured lawns of the Russo estate. The scars of the winter raid were entirely gone, repaired and remodeled into something even more grand and impenetrable.

In the garden, Liam Hastings—tanned, healthy, and wearing a crisp linen shirt—was laughing as he chased a golden retriever across the grass.

Inside the study, sitting behind the massive black walnut desk, Norah Russo looked down at the open ledger. She wore a simple white linen dress, her hair falling loosely over her shoulders, and the gold diamond ring caught the evening light, throwing small, fractured rainbows across the ancient paper.

The door opened softly, and footsteps crossed the Persian rug.

Dominic stepped up behind her. He wore a dark charcoal suit, the injury to his shoulder completely healed, leaving him as strong and imposing as ever. He leaned down, resting his chin on her shoulder, and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her back against his chest.

"What are you reading?" he murmured, pressing a soft kiss to the side of her neck.

"Just auditing your books," Norah smiled, tilting her head back to lean against him. "Checking to see if you have any hidden liabilities I should know about."

Dominic chuckled, a rich, deep sound that vibrated against her spine. "Only one. And she currently owns my entire heart."

"Good," Norah whispered, turning in his arms to wrap her hands around his neck, looking up into those dark, fathomless eyes that had once terrified her and now felt like home. "Because she doesn't plan on going anywhere."

"I know," Dominic said softly, his gaze softening with absolute, unwavering devotion as he pressed his lips to hers. "Forever."
