Chapter 6 - The Festival of the HoneycombIn late September 2026, nine months after that terrifying night, the grand ballroom of the Four Seasons Boston was packed to absolute capacity for the inaugural Honey & Hearth Civic & Culinary Gala.
Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.
On a private gold tray at the head table rested a fresh batch of cardamom buns baked by my own hands.
Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing a breathtaking floor-length dark emerald silk evening gown that celebrated my tall, radiant figure, was Donna Clara Mitchell-Blackwood.
Around my neck hung my late father’s silver signet pendant, my dark hair falling in glossy waves over my shoulders, my hazel eyes burning with absolute, unshakeable victory, inner peace, and sovereign grace.
Beside the stage stood Bridget Colton and Marcus Vance.
And standing on my right, wearing an magnificent charcoal bespoke tuxedo, his broad six-foot-four frame squared, his handsome face glowing with deep, quiet pride, was Damen Blackwood.
Damen stepped up to the microphone beside me, wrapping his broad, warm arm securely around my waist, his deep baritone echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:
"Nine months ago, I walked into a small bakery, ordered black coffee, and fell in love with the bravest woman in Boston," Damen announced to the silent room, his gray eyes shining with genuine, unshakeable devotion as he looked down at me. "And when the dark came to her door, she shattered a traitor's conspiracy, claimed her true name, and brought my entire world back to the light."
Damen held his champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To my Chairwoman, my savior, and the queen of my heart: Donna Clara Mitchell-Blackwood!"
"To Clara!" the entire room erupted into a warm, unanimous standing ovation, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
