Chapter 7 - The Architecture of Forever

Spring arrived in New York with an explosion of vibrant colors, blooming cherry blossoms, and a brilliant, warm sun that bathed the Manhattan skyline in golden light.
The grand opening of the Vance-Moretti Community Center and Arts Foundation—built on the exact downtown land my father had fought to protect a decade ago—was the premier event of the season. The sprawling, modern glass-and-steel building was packed with city leaders, philanthropists, artists, and respected business owners who raised their crystal champagne glasses in celebration.
At the center of the grand atrium stood me, wearing a stunning emerald-green silk dress that caught the sunlight, my blonde hair styled in soft, elegant waves. I was laughing alongside the city’s mayor as we cut the ceremonial ribbon, officially opening the doors to thousands of children and families who would benefit from the foundation's programs.
Across the sunlit room, leaning against a minimalist steel pillar in a sharp, obsidian-gray suit, Dante Moretti watched me with a quiet, utterly devoted smile. He didn't hover; he didn't need to. The shadow of the underworld had receded, replaced by the bright, unyielding light of a new legacy we were building together.
As the applause echoed through the atrium, I caught his eye across the crowded room.
Dante raised his champagne glass in a silent toast, his slate-gray eyes softening with a depth of love that words could never capture. I raised my glass in return, a radiant, triumphant smile spreading across my face.

The waitress from Bellini’s was gone forever. In her place stood a woman who had stared down the abyss, saved a mafia king, dismantled an empire of corruption, and built an unbreakable fortress of her own.
Outside, the city buzzed with endless possibilities under the bright spring sky. The storm had passed, the debts were paid, and our forever had finally begun.
