Chapter 6 - The Festival of the Golden SilkIn late September 2026, nine months after that fateful night, the grand ballroom of the Moretti Estate—the very room where I had dropped thirty feet above the marble floor—was packed to absolute capacity for the inaugural Grace Mitchell Performing Arts Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.
Suspended high above the polished mahogany floor were two gleaming golden aerial silks.
Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing a breathtaking floor-length dark emerald silk evening gown that celebrated my tall, radiant figure, was me.
Around my neck hung my late father’s silver signet pendant, my dark hair falling in glossy waves over my shoulders, my hazel eyes burning with absolute, unshakeable victory, inner peace, and sovereign grace.
Beside the stage stood Bridget Colton and Marcus Vance.
And standing on my right, wearing an magnificent charcoal bespoke tuxedo, his broad six-foot-four frame squared, his handsome face glowing with deep, quiet pride, was Vincent Moretti.
Vincent stepped up to the microphone beside me, wrapping his broad, warm arm securely around my waist, his deep baritone echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:
"Nine months ago, a ruthless lie tried to break the wings of the bravest woman I have ever known," Vincent announced to the silent room, his storm-gray eyes shining with genuine, unshakeable devotion as he looked down at me. "And on that night, she stepped onto my aerial silks, dropped thirty feet into the dark... and showed the entire world how a queen takes back her sky."
Vincent held his champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To my Chairwoman, my savior, and the queen of my heart: Donna Grace Mitchell-Moretti!"
"To Grace!" the entire room erupted into a warm, unanimous standing ovation, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
