Chapter 6 - The Festival of LightIn late September 2026, ten months after our midnight marriage, the grand ballroom of the Plaza Hotel in New York was packed to absolute capacity for the inaugural Lena Morales-Vale Healthcare & Maritime Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.
Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing a breathtaking floor-length dark emerald silk evening gown that celebrated my tall, radiant figure, was me.
Around my neck hung my late grandfather Arthur Bennett's vintage silver signet pendant, my dark hair falling in glossy waves over my shoulders, my hazel eyes burning with absolute, unshakeable victory, inner peace, and sovereign grace.
Beside the stage stood my mother, looking healthy, radiant, and happy in a navy lace gown, alongside Bridget Colton and Marcus Vance.
And standing on my right, wearing an magnificent charcoal bespoke tuxedo, his broad six-foot-three frame squared, his handsome face glowing with deep, quiet pride, was Julian Vale.
Julian stepped up to the microphone beside me, wrapping his broad, warm arm around my waist, his voice echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:
"Ten months ago, at 11:47 P.M., I was a man desperate to save an empire from thieves," Julian announced to the silent room, his gray eyes shining with genuine, unshakeable devotion as he looked down at me. "And on that night, the bravest woman I have ever met stood up from her knees, took my hand, and brought my entire life back to the light."
Julian held his champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To my Chairwoman, my savior, and the queen of my heart: Donna Lena Morales-Vale!"
"To Lena!" the entire room erupted into a warm, unanimous standing ovation, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
