Chapter 7 - Sunrise Over the PeakThree months later, the chaos of Manhattan felt like a lifetime away.

The air outside the mountain cabin was crisp and clean, smelling of pine needles, damp earth, and the sweet promise of spring. The snow had melted away from the slopes, replaced by vibrant green alpine meadows and wildflowers stretching as far as the eye could see.

I stood on the rustic wooden porch, a mug of hot coffee in my hand, watching the sunrise paint the jagged peaks in brilliant shades of gold and amber.

Footsteps sounded softly behind me, followed by the familiar, comforting warmth of arms wrapping around my waist.

Elena rested her head against my shoulder, looking out over the valley.

"You know," she murmured with a playful smile, "for a billionaire crime lord, you're not half bad at chopping firewood."

"An empire is built on foundational skills, Elena," I teased back, turning in her embrace to look down into her dark, beautiful eyes. "Though I have to admit, I prefer this view much better than the New York skyline."

"Me too," she whispered, her smile softening. "No locked doors, no shadows, no ghosts."

"And no wolves," I added, leaning down to press my lips softly against hers.

She kissed me back, deep and lingering, sealing away every drop of pain, betrayal, and cold winter night that had brought us together.
