Chapter 4 - The Boardroom ExecutionDown at Vance Global Holdings headquarters on Wall Street, the executive boardroom was packed to maximum capacity.

Seventy-two board members, major institutional investors, and international media representatives sat around the massive, horseshoe-shaped conference table, murmuring quietly among themselves. At the head of the table sat Flynn Vance, looking every bit the invincible billionaire king. His tailored dark navy suit fit like a second skin, his posture was rigid, and a confident, smug smirk played at the corners of his mouth.
He had just finished delivering a fifteen-minute opening monologue about the unstoppable growth of the Vance empire, basking in the polite, sycophantic applause of the room.
"As you can see, gentlemen," Flynn projected smoothly, gesturing to the blank projector screen behind him, "our financial foundation is completely unshakeable. We control the market, we control the assets, and our family dynasty is secured for generations to come with the recent expansion of our direct lineage."
At the side of the room, sitting quietly in a high-backed chair next to Selina—who was dressed in a tight designer maternity dress, playing the role of the devoted, triumphant matriarch—Flynn reached out and squeezed her hand patronizingly.
Suddenly, the massive projector screen behind Flynn flickered to life.
Instead of the projected Q3 revenue projections, the display illuminated a stark, high-resolution document in bold black lettering: INTERNAL FORENSIC AUDIT: EUROPEAN SUBSIDIARY EMBEZZLEMENT & ASSET DIVERSION.
The murmurs in the room instantly died, replaced by a suffocating, dead silence.
Flynn frowned, turning around to look at the screen. His eyebrows knitted together in sudden confusion. He pressed the remote in his hand, trying to cycle to the next slide, but the screen didn't change. Instead, a second document popped up beside the audit: WESTCHESTER MEDICAL CENTER: PATERNITY VERIFICATION RECORD. CHILD: MILLER, L. BIOLOGICAL FATHER: VANCE, MARCUS.
Color drained from Flynn’s face so fast he looked like a corpse carved out of marble.
At the end of the table, CFO Marcus Vance stood up slowly, his hands shaking so violently he could barely hold his notepad. He looked across the room, refusing to meet Flynn’s murderous glare.
"What... what is the meaning of this?" Flynn stammered, his voice cracking slightly as he turned back to face the stunned board of directors. "This is a malicious cyber attack! Security, cut the feed—!"
"The feed stays on, Flynn," a calm, clear voice echoed from the double doors at the back of the boardroom.
Every head in the room whipped around.
I pushed the heavy mahogany doors open, stepping into the boardroom with measured, elegant strides. I wore a tailored black Armani pantsuit, my dark hair pulled back into a severe, flawless bun, and sunglasses resting on the bridge of my nose. Pushing a sleek, modern silver stroller containing sleeping baby Clara, I walked right down the center aisle as if I owned the entire building.
Because, legally speaking, I practically did.
"Mabel?" Flynn choked out, stumbling back a half-step from the podium, his eyes wide with sheer, unfiltered panic. "What... what are you doing here? You’re supposed to be—" Resting. Broken. Silenced.
"Recovering?" I finished for him, stopping ten feet away from the head of the table. I took off my sunglasses, fixing him with a cold, piercing stare that made veteran investors flinch. "I'm afraid you miscalculated, Flynn. You thought bringing your pregnant mistress into my delivery room was the end of the story. You forgot that every single brick of this corporate empire was laid on legal foundations that I personally engineered."
Selina scrambled up from her chair, her face twisted in ugly panic. "She’s lying! Security, throw her out! She’s just a bitter, dumped ex-wife throwing a tantrum—!"
"Shut your mouth, Selina," I snapped, the sheer venom in my tone whipping across the room like a physical lash. She flinched, shrinking back into her seat.
I turned my attention back to the frozen board of directors, raising my voice so it carried clearly into every corner of the room.
"Under Section 14 of the master Vance Family Trust—which every single person in this room signed off on—gross fiduciary negligence, corporate embezzlement via CFO Marcus Vance, and material breach of trust triggers an immediate, automatic freeze of all liquid capital, executive compensation, and operational control," I declared smoothly, pulling a certified legal writ from my briefcase and tossing it onto the mahogany table. "Furthermore, as the primary settlor and majority voting proxy of the trust, I am hereby officially stripping Flynn Vance of his CEO title, freezing his personal accounts, and initiating foreclosure proceedings on all corporate-backed real estate holdings—including the Fifth Avenue penthouse."

The boardroom exploded into chaos.
Investors were shouting over one another, reporters were furiously typing on their laptops, and Flynn stood paralyzed at the podium, his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water, his $1.5 billion kingdom evaporating into thin air before his very eyes.
