Chapter 7 - The Unbroken HorizonThe private jet cruised smoothly at thirty-seven thousand feet, cutting quietly through the violet twilight as it winged its way across the Atlantic toward Europe.

I sat by the window of the cabin, reviewing the final international audit summaries for the Zurich and London hotel branches on my tablet. The numbers were clean, the compliance metrics were flawless, and the ethical standards we had fought so hard to establish were now the gold standard of the global hospitality industry.
Julian sat across the aisle, nursing a cup of black coffee and reading the European financial digests. He looked up, catching my eye, and offered a warm, relaxed smile that had been entirely foreign to him when we first met.
"You're still working, Clara?" Julian teased gently, setting his magazine aside. "I thought this was supposed to be our honeymoon."
I locked my tablet screen and set it down on the tray table, turning my face toward the window to watch the stars begin to emerge against the vast, dark canvas of the upper atmosphere.
"An investigator never truly clocks out, Julian," I replied with a soft laugh. "I'm just making sure our flight path is secure."
Julian unbuckled his seatbelt, stood up, and slid into the seat directly beside me, wrapping his arm securely around my shoulders. He pulled me close, resting his chin against my hair.
"You don't need to check the radar anymore, Clara," Julian whispered softly, his voice filled with an absolute, unwavering conviction. "The storm passed months ago. There's nothing out there now except open sky."
I closed my eyes, letting out a long, peaceful breath as the steady hum of the jet engines vibrated gently through the cabin. The betrayal, the cameras, the courtroom battles, and the bitter hatred of the past were all locked away behind us, reduced to distant memories of a life we had successfully survived and conquered.

I reached out, my fingers interlocking naturally with Julian's.
Ahead of us lay a wide, beautiful world—unbroken, unclouded, and entirely our own.
