Chapter 6 - The Blue House by the OceanSix months after the snowstorm in Chicago, the golden May sun broke warmly over the rolling green cliffs of Pacific City, Oregon.

The dark, violent legacy of the Moretti family in the Midwest underwent a complete, historic transformation.

Under Miriam Cho’s legal guidance, the Gold Coast estate was auctioned off, with forty million dollars of its proceeds donated to the Elena Moretti Maternal Health Trust at Northwestern Hospital.

Dante systematically stepped down from his operational command of the syndicate, transferring primary control to a corporate board managed by Marco, while he retained only legitimate international shipping logistics and real estate holdings.

And he fulfilled the promise he had found on my personal laptop six months ago.

He bought the little blue house three hundred miles down the Oregon coast—a charming, three-story cedar home sitting on a grassy cliff overlooking the roaring blue waters of the Pacific Ocean.

On a warm, clear Saturday afternoon, the private garden behind the blue house was illuminated by blooming wild sunflowers, white roses, and long cedar tables set up for a small, private celebration.

Six-month-old Leo sat on a plush quilt on the grass, kicking his chubby legs, laughing happily as he tried to grab a soft plush lamb. He was a healthy, thriving boy who filled our days with bright smiles and endless energy.

I sat on a wooden porch bench wearing a comfortable white linen dress that caught the ocean breeze. My dark hair fell in glossy waves over my shoulders, my skin warm, radiant, and full of life.

Dante walked out onto the porch wearing a dark linen shirt with his sleeves rolled back, carrying two glasses of fresh iced tea.

He stepped up beside my bench, dropping onto one knee flat on the cedar deckboards before me.

He reached into his pocket, pulled out a small, velvet-lined jeweler's box, and opened it flat onto my lap.

Inside sat my original gold wedding ring—polished, gleaming, and set beside a fresh platinum band engraved with the words: FOREVER YOURS, ELENA.

I looked at the rings, then looked up into his handsome, unarmored face—seeing no longer the arrogant, cold Don who brought mistresses into our house, but a man who had stripped away his entire life to become a devoted father and husband.

"You don't have to put it back on, Elena," Dante spoke softly, his storm-gray eyes burning with an absolute, unshakeable devotion. "I will spend the rest of my life earning the right to be your husband. But today... I ask you to let me wear mine."

He held up his left hand, showing his plain gold band shining on his ring finger.

Tears of pure, weightless joy welling in my eyes, I reached out, my fingers wrapping gently around his broad hand, pulling him up to sit beside me on the bench.

I picked up the new platinum band, sliding it smoothly onto my left ring finger.

"I am already home, Dante," I whispered softly, resting my head against his broad chest.

Dante let out a long, shuddering sigh of pure, weightless relief, wrapping his broad arms around my waist, pulling me flush against his beating heart as he leaned down to press his lips softly, fiercely against mine in a deep, unhurried kiss.
