Chapter 5 - The Purge of the SyndicateMarcus Vance stepped into the hotel suite, holding a pair of heavy steel handcuffs and a certified federal warrant.

"Don Luke," Marcus reported flatly. "Federal Marshals and state prosecutors are waiting downstairs. All assets registered under Claire Barrett and her shell firms have been seized under federal RICO forfeiture decrees."
Claire thrashed wildly, weeping hysterical tears as two operators forced her arms behind her back.
"LUKE! YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME! I'M YOUR WIFE'S SISTER!" Claire screamed as the cuffs locked tightly around her wrists.
"You're not her sister," Luke answered coldly, turning his back on her forever. "You're a parasite who destroyed her father and tried to murder her family."
The fallout from Luke’s discovery detonated across Houston like a series of targeted warheads:
CLAIRE BARRETT: Indicted on charges of First-Degree Extortion, Wire Fraud, and Secondary Conspiracy to Manslaughter regarding her father’s death. Sentenced to twenty-eight years in a federal maximum-security penitentiary without the possibility of early parole.
SYNDICATE RESTRUCTURING: Luke executed a total, unyielding purge of his own organization. Every corrupt lieutenant, off-ledger operator, and illegal asset was dismantled or turned over to federal authorities.
THE DELANEY FOUNDATION: The foundation was completely liquidated and restructured into a clean, multi-billion-dollar international corporate entity: The Thomas Barrett & Paige Delaney Infrastructure Trust.
Stripped of his illegal syndicate ties, Luke converted his entire empire into a legitimate, transparent maritime and construction logistics corporation, resigning his title as Don to dedicate his life to rebuilding what he had broken.

Yet despite clearing my name and destroying our enemies, Luke knew that money, power, and legal victories meant nothing without my forgiveness.
For three weeks, he stayed at a small inn near Fredericksburg, sitting in his vehicle outside Evelyn's ranch every single day from sunrise to sunset, never pushing past the gates, never demanding entry, simply waiting in the cold rain to prove his devotion.
