Chapter 6 - The Gala at the PlazaIn late September 2026, the grand ballroom of the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan was packed to absolute capacity for the annual Vance-Miller Global Civic & Health Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.
Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing an magnificent charcoal bespoke tuxedo, was Elias Vance. His broad six-foot-three frame was squared, his severe, handsome face radiating an unshakeable, sovereign authority and a profound, radiant peace.
Beside him stood my mother, my legal team, and our twin daughters—sitting happily in a sunlit velvet double stroller—while I stood at his side looking radiant in an emerald silk evening gown.
Elias adjusted the microphone, his deep, resonant baritone echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:
"Eight months ago, I found a brave young woman and two newborn baby girls under a freezing concrete overpass," Elias announced to the silent room, his storm-gray eyes shining with deep, genuine pride as he looked at me. "And she taught me that true royalty isn't inherited through fear or power... it is earned through maternal courage, unbroken truth, and sovereign love."
Elias held his champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To Ava!" the entire room erupted into a warm, unanimous standing ovation, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
