Chapter 7 - Unbroken and Forever HomeSix months after the night at the estate, the warm spring sun broke brightly over the soaring cliffside terraces of the Greenwich estate.

The corporate collapse of Sterling Global was absolute and final. The firm was liquidated by federal receivers, its illegal assets seized, and fifty percent of the remaining liquid trust—totaling one hundred and forty million dollars—was permanently awarded to me as Isabella's sole surviving heir.

I established the Isabella & Elina Foundation for Separated Children—a national organization dedicated to tracking down lost siblings, protecting orphans from illegal adoptions, and providing free legal defense for state wards.

On a warm, clear afternoon in late May, the wide stone terrace overlooking Long Island Sound was set with long white-linen tables, fresh hydrangeas, and sunlit food for a grand family celebration.

Sitting in a soft luxury playpen near the terrace floor was fifteen-month-old Leo—healthy, happy, chubby, wearing a small white linen suit, giggling brightly as he walked on his own two feet toward me.

I sat in a comfortable teak lounge chair wearing a breathtaking emerald silk dress that caught the sunlight like liquid gold. My dark hair fell in soft, glossy waves over my shoulders, my skin radiant, my left cheek showing my bright, happy dimple.

On my left hand rested a five-carat flawless emerald-cut diamond ring set in platinum—a symbol of an unbroken promise.

Dante walked out onto the terrace carrying two glasses of fresh lemonade, dropping onto the bench beside me, wrapping his broad, warm arm around my waist, pulling me flush against his solid frame.

He pressed a deep, sweet, lingering kiss against my cheek, right over my dimple, his gray eyes shining with an absolute, unshakeable devotion.

"How is the Chairwoman feeling today?" Dante teased softly into my ear.

I turned my head, offering him a radiant, genuine smile that lit up my entire face.

"I feel complete, Dante," I answered softly, reaching down to squeeze his broad, warm hand. "For nineteen years, I thought I was alone in this world. Today... I have my son, my home, and the man I love."

Dante looked down into my hazel eyes, then looked at little Leo, who was happily running across the terrace grass toward his father.

Dante reached out, lifting Leo into his broad arms, holding both of us close to his heart under the warm, unbroken spring sky.

There were no double shifts at noisy restaurants. There were no fake adoption secrets hidden in dark libraries. There were no tears swallowed in quiet rooms.

The lonely waitress was dead forever. The sovereign matriarch had claimed her throne.

And standing under the vast, unbroken sky, wrapped in the arms of the man who loved me, holding our son tight, I knew that my life, my heart, and my future were finally, beautifully, and forever home.
