Chapter 5 - The Fall of Ethan MillerEthan thrashed his hands frantically, backing toward the rear patio doors as he realized his entire life was crumbling into dust.

"THIS IS UNFAIR!" Ethan screamed, his voice cracking into a high, panic-stricken shriek. "CLAIRE! TELL THEM TO STOP! WE'RE MARRIED! MY FAMILY HAS RIGHTS!"
Claire walked forward smoothly, reaching into her coat, pulling out her official marriage license, and tearing it cleanly into four pieces, tossing the scraps flat onto Ethan's face.
"Our marriage was annulled two hours ago, Ethan," Claire revealed cleanly, her eyes holding zero fear, zero doubt, and zero mercy. "You smashed a bottle against the head of the Sterling heiress on your wedding night. You are finished."
Lead Prosecutor Rachel Hayes stepped forward, holding out a thick stack of federal arrest warrants signed by the Chief Federal District Judge.
"Richard Miller, Eleanor Miller, and Ethan Miller," Prosecutor Hayes announced flatly. "You are under federal arrest for Kidnapping, Identity Fraud, Grand Embezzlement of Trust Capital, and Aggravated Domestic Assault."
CLICK. CLICK.
Heavy steel handcuffs locked tightly around Ethan’s wrists behind his back as two Federal Marshals forced his arms behind his coat.
"ARGH! MOM! DAD! HELP ME!" Ethan shrieked, tears and snot streaming down his pale face as he was dragged toward the front door. "I WAS JUST PRANKING HER! IT WAS JUST A GLASS BOTTLE!"
Richard and Eleanor were handcuffed beside him, weeping hysterically as news cameras from every major network in Chicago gathered along the driveway outside.
They were dragged out through the grand foyer in heavy chains, their names permanently erased from high-society circles, leaving the estate in total, public ruin.
