Clara stood on the private balcony of her penthouse, breathing in the crisp, clean air. The heavy knot that had lived in her chest for three years was entirely gone, replaced by a fierce, unshakeable peace.

Her phone buzzed on the glass table behind her. She picked it up, expecting an email from the legal department. Instead, it was a notification from her bank app—a final confirmation that the asset liquidation of her former marital estate was complete, and the funds had been entirely redirected to a women’s shelter foundation bearing her mother's name.
