Chapter 6 - The Festival of the Golden PenIn late September 2026, one year after that freezing Tuesday morning in the ER, the grand ballroom of the Plaza Hotel in Philadelphia was packed to absolute capacity for the inaugural Nora Bennett Heritage & Healthcare Integrity Gala.
Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.
On a private velvet pedestal near the presentation podium rested a beautifully framed silver-trimmed black fountain pen—the very pen Gabriel had sent to my apartment—now transformed into a symbol of sovereign protection, resilience, and unbroken love.
Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing a dark bespoke charcoal tuxedo, his broad six-foot-four frame squared, his handsome face glowing with deep, quiet pride, holding my hand, was Don Gabriel Moretti.
Beside him stood Donna Nora Elizabeth Bennett-Moretti, looking breathtaking in a floor-length dark emerald silk evening gown, her hazel eyes glowing with complete happiness.
Around my neck hung my late grandfather’s restored gold signet pendant.
Gabriel adjusted the microphone, his deep, resonant baritone echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:
"One year ago, a brave ER nurse gave her own blood to save a dying stranger, completely unaware that she was the queen destined to save my life and my empire," Gabriel announced to the silent room, his dark eyes shining with genuine, unshakeable devotion as he looked down at me. "And on that night, she shattered a traitor's conspiracy, claimed her sovereign birthright, and brought my entire world back to the light."
Gabriel held his champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To my Chairwoman, my savior, and the queen of my heart: Donna Nora Elizabeth Bennett-Moretti!"
"To Nora!" the entire room erupted into a warm, unanimous standing ovation, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
