Chapter 5 - The Execution at Velvet NoirAt 11:00 PM that evening, the heavy subterranean steel doors of the safe room clicked open.

Caleb Ross stepped out of the elevator, wiping blood from a minor scratch on his arm, holding a secure satellite phone.
"The estate is secure, Don Adrian," Caleb reported with a subtle, lethal smile. "Victor's initial hit squad has been neutralized. But Victor escaped in an armored vehicle toward Velvet Noir—he’s trying to seize the central server bank to force a digital transfer of the Carter Trust funds before midnight."
Adrian pulled a fresh magazine from his jacket, snapping it into his Sig Sauer pistol with a sharp CLICK.
"He won't touch those servers, Caleb," Adrian declared.
I stood up from the sofa, stripping off my black maid's apron, tossing it flat onto the glass coffee table.
"I'm coming with you, Adrian," I stated, my hazel eyes flashing with an unyielding, sovereign fire that made Caleb raise his eyebrows in respect.
Margaret reached out, taking my hand. "Elena..."
"He stole six years of our lives, Mom," I said softly, kissing her cheek. "It's time I take our name back."
Adrian looked at me for three long seconds. A rare, breathtaking smile touched his carved features—a look of pure, unreserved admiration.
"Get her a weapon, Caleb," Adrian commanded flatly. "The Donna is riding with us."
Twenty minutes later, three midnight-black armored Maybachs screeched to a halt outside Velvet Noir on the Las Vegas Strip.
The nightclub was locked down, its neon lights flickering in the desert night.
Inside the grand VIP lounge on the top floor, Victor Vance stood frantically typing commands into the main financial terminal, surrounded by his five remaining hitmen.
BOOM!
The reinforced glass doors of the VIP lounge shattered into a thousand glittering shards!
Adrian stepped through the smoke, flanked by Caleb and eight armed Vance security officers.
Beside Adrian walked me.
I wore a tailored black silk pantsuit, holding a tactical weapon at my side, my dark hair falling over my shoulders, my hazel eyes burning with absolute, sovereign authority.
Victor spun around, his jaw sagging open in utter, catatonic terror as he saw me standing beside Adrian.
"E-Elena...?!" Victor stammered, taking a panicked step backward against the terminal. "YOU... YOU WERE A MAID THIS MORNING!"
"I was hiding in plain sight, Victor," I announced, my clear, velvet voice echoing off the glass walls. "And tonight, your lease on my family's life expires."
Adrian didn't give Victor a chance to speak. He stepped forward, executing a swift, brutal strike that disarmed Victor’s revolver, slamming him flat against the marble floorboards.
CLICK. CLICK.
Caleb locked heavy steel handcuffs around Victor’s wrists behind his back.

"Victor Vance," Lead Federal Marshal Miller declared, stepping out from behind the security team. "You are under arrest for Attempted Premeditated Murder, Extortion, Systemic Corporate Fraud, and Racketeering."
Victor wept hysterical, pathetic pleas as marshals dragged him out of Velvet Noir in total, public disgrace, surrounded by news cameras capturing his downfall for the evening news.
