Chapter 3 - The Purge of the South RiverAt 2:00 PM that afternoon, the glass-walled executive headquarters of Moretti Logistics on the South River waterfront was in total, chaotic upheaval.

Julian Moretti stood at the center of the marble atrium, wearing an expensive tweed coat, holding a leather briefcase, screaming frantically at two private movers who were sealing the primary computer servers.
"THIS IS A MISTAKE!" Julian shrieked, his manicured fingers shaking furiously as he pointed at the movers. "I AM THE MANAGING DIRECTOR OF THIS TERMINAL! YOU CANNOT LOCK MY OFFICES!"
The heavy double glass entrance doors of the headquarters were pushed open.
Walking down the central marble aisle, flanked by Chief Prosecutor Marcus Vance and six armed federal officers, was me.
I wore an magnificent charcoal bespoke suit, my broad six-foot-three frame radiating an unshakeable, sovereign authority.
And walking right beside me, wearing a breathtaking floor-length dark navy silk coat over a tailored cream dress that celebrated her recovered, radiant posture, carrying her twin daughters in a sunlit double stroller, was Clara.
Julian went paper-white. His jaw sagged open, his bloodshot eyes darting from my face to the two healthy baby girls resting inside the stroller.
"C-Clara...?! ELIAS...?!" Julian stammered, taking three panicked steps backward against the reception desk. "WHAT... WHAT IS THIS?! YOU WERE DEAD! I LEFT YOU IN THE SNOW!"
"You left her on my territory, Julian," I said smoothly, my low baritone carrying cleanly across the high marble atrium, silencing thirty corporate employees. "And in doing so, you activated Clause Four of the Vance Family Trust."
Bridget Colton stepped forward, sliding a stack of court-stamped legal notices flat into Julian’s trembling hands:
IMMEDIATE EVICTION: Revocation of all commercial land leases held by Moretti Logistics along the South River corridor.
CORPORATE SEIZURE: Full legal transfer of Julian Moretti's forty-two percent voting shares directly to Chairwoman Clara Vance-Moretti.
CRIMINAL ARREST WARRANT: Federal warrants served for Two Counts of Attempted Premeditated Murder, Aggravated Domestic Assault, and Systemic Wire Fraud.
Two uniformed officers stepped forward, locking heavy steel handcuffs around Julian’s wrists behind his back.
"Julian Moretti," Lead Marshal Miller declared coldly. "You are under arrest."
