Chapter 7 - Unbroken and Forever SovereignAt 8:30 PM, as the spring sun dipped below the Chicago skyline, painting the sky in brilliant shades of rose, gold, and deep sapphire, the private terrace was illuminated by dozens of soft, twinkling fairy lights.

Marcus Thorne stepped up to our table carrying a silver tray holding two fresh glasses of vintage wine.

"To Arthur Vance," Marcus toasted cleanly, holding his glass high. "A man who rebuilt his kingdom with truth, strength, and unwavering honor."

"To Arthur!" the small gathering echoed warmly, crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.

I picked up my glass, taking a slow, unhurried sip, holding Eleanor close to my side as the cool evening breeze rustled through the oak trees.

There were no forged deeds hiding in dark desk drawers. There were no fake wives scheming in silent bedrooms. There were no strangers sleeping in my bed.

The naive, overly trusting husband was gone forever. The sovereign patriarch had reclaimed his life.

And standing under the vast, unbroken sky, wrapped in the fierce love and protection of the daughter who had saved me, holding my head high, I knew that my life, my heart, and my future were finally, beautifully, and forever home.
