Chapter 3 - The Purge at the Brooklyn DocksAt 9:00 AM the following morning, the grand executive conference room overlooking the deep-water shipping berths at the South Brooklyn Logistics Terminal was packed to capacity.

Over thirty senior syndicate capos, corporate logistics directors, and high-society attorneys sat around a thirty-foot carved mahogany table beneath cold industrial lighting.
Sitting at the head of the table, wearing a tailored charcoal suit, smoking a Cuban cigar, was fifty-four-year-old Carlo Moretti—Luca’s arrogant, greedy underboss.
"Gentlemen!" Carlo announced into the central microphone, his voice dripping with condescending authority, "due to Don Luca’s recent... personal distractions with his quiet little wife, I am executing our option to reallocate the South Brooklyn maritime proxies to my private holding firm—"
BOOM!
The heavy double reinforced steel doors of the conference hall were thrown open with a violent, hydraulic impact!
The chatter of thirty mafia executives vanished into an absolute, speech-bound silence.
Walking down the central aisle, flanked by Marcus Vance and eight armed Vance Security operatives carrying tactical rifles, was me.
I wore a breathtaking floor-length dark navy silk coat over an ivory dress, my dark hair styled in soft waves, my hazel eyes burning with an unshakeable, radiant peace, health, and sovereign authority.
And walking right beside me, wearing a dark bespoke charcoal suit, his broad six-foot-four frame squared, his handsome face radiating an untouchable, lethal authority... was Luca Ferraro.
Carlo Moretti dropped his cigar.
The glowing ash fell flat onto his silk tie, burning through the fabric as his face went from arrogant red to an ugly, paper-white shade of green.
"L-LUCA...?! NORA?!" Carlo stammered, taking two frantic steps backward against his leather chair. "WHAT IS THIS?! YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE AT THE ESTATE!"
"I was at the estate, Carlo," Luca announced flatly, his deep, gravelly baritone carrying cleanly across the vast room, dropping the temperature to absolute zero. "Watching my wife recover from saving Julian Bennett’s daughter."
Carlo’s eyes bulged in pure, catatonic horror.
Bridget Colton stepped forward, sliding a thick stack of court-stamped legal notices flat into Carlo Moretti’s trembling hands:
TOTAL ASSET SEIZURE: Federal enforcement of the Bennett Maritime Trust, transferring fifty-one percent controlling common stock equity in South Brooklyn Logistics directly to Donna Nora Quinn-Ferraro.
CRIMINAL ARREST WARRANTS: International arrest warrants served on Carlo Moretti for First-Degree Murder (in the death of Julian Bennett), Systemic Embezzlement, and $20 Million Wire Fraud.
IMMEDIATE TERMINATION: Permanent revocation of all syndicate titles and operational credentials held by Carlo Moretti.
"THIS IS A LIE!" Carlo shrieked, thrashing as two uniformed federal marshals stepped forward with heavy steel handcuffs. "SHE IS A NOBODY! YOU CAN'T GIVE MARITIME EQUITIES TO A WOMAN!"
"She isn't just a woman, Carlo," Luca corrected deadpan, stepping beside my chair, wrapping his broad, warm arm around my waist, pulling me flush against his side. "She is the Matriarch of the Ferraro Dynasty. And she owns everything you stole."

Carlo thrashed and wept hysterical, groveling pleas as marshals locked steel cuffs around his wrists behind his back, dragging him out of the terminal in total, public disgrace, while news cameras captured his complete downfall for the morning news.
