Chapter 6 - The Festival of the Golden HearthIn late September 2026, ten months after that quiet midnight discovery, the grand ballroom of the Plaza Hotel in Boston was packed to absolute capacity for the inaugural Claire Sterling Heritage & Financial Integrity Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society figures gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.

Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing a tailored dark charcoal tuxedo, his broad six-foot-three frame squared, his handsome face glowing with deep, quiet pride, was Marcus Vance.

Beside him stood Donna Claire Sterling, looking breathtaking in a floor-length dark emerald silk evening gown, her dark hazel eyes glowing with complete, radiant happiness.

Around my neck hung my late father’s restored gold signet pendant.

Marcus adjusted the microphone, his deep, resonant baritone echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:

"Ten months ago, a brilliant woman stood in her own living room, watched her past be erased by a gaslighting coward, and chose not to scream—she chose to audit," Marcus announced to the silent room, his storm-gray eyes shining with genuine, unshakeable admiration as he looked down at me. "And on that night, she shattered a web of lies, claimed her sovereign birthright, and brought her entire world back to the light."

Marcus held his champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To Claire!" the entire room erupted into a warm, unanimous standing ovation, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
