Chapter 7 - A New DynastyOne year later.

The crisp autumn wind swept over Lake Michigan, blowing golden leaves across the green lawns of the grand Callahan Estate in Lake Forest.

The dark rumors of mob wars had faded into history. Callahan Enterprises had fully transitioned into a legitimate, multi-billion-dollar global shipping and infrastructure empire, with Pier 42 serving as the crown jewel of Chicago’s new green-energy port initiative.

Finn had permanently relocated to Europe, living a quiet, heavily managed life far away from the family business, his trust fund conditional on his continued absence from Chicago.

In the grand ballroom of the Lake Forest estate, classical music floated through the air beneath crystal chandeliers. The elite of Chicago—politicians, business titans, historians, and community leaders—filled the room, celebrating the launch of the Vance-Callahan Historical Preservation Foundation.

I stood near the grand French doors leading out to the terrace, wearing a stunning black velvet gown, holding a glass of sparkling champagne.

A pair of strong, warm arms wrapped around my waist from behind.

Ronan pulled me back against his broad chest, burying his face into the crook of my neck, pressing a soft, warm kiss against my skin. His hands—adorned with his silver signet ring—rested over my stomach, holding me close.

"You're ignoring your guests, Mrs. Callahan," I teased softly, turning my head to look at him.

Ronan smiled—a rare, breathtaking smile that belonged only to me. We had been married three months ago in a private ceremony on the shores of Lake Como, away from the noise and blood of the past.

"My guests can wait," Ronan murmured, his gray eyes filled with a deep, endless devotion. "I would rather look at my wife."

I turned around in his arms, wrapping my hands around his neck, running my fingers through his dark hair. "Do you ever regret it?" I asked softly. "The night at Clover & Ash? The shattered sauce jar?"

Ronan let out a rich, deep laugh that warmed my entire soul. He leaned down, resting his forehead against mine, his dark eyes shining with absolute sincerity.

"That night was the greatest miracle of my life, Lara," Ronan whispered, kissing my lips softly, sweet and lingering. "My foolish son threw away a treasure. And I was smart enough to build an empire around it."

I smiled against his mouth, kissing him back with all the love and passion that filled my heart.

Outside, the autumn sun set over Lake Michigan, casting a brilliant, golden light over the city of Chicago—a city that belonged to us, built on truth, power, and a love that could never be broken.
