Chapter 4 - The Unmasking of Trevor AshfordOver the next two weeks inside the Markov estate, my life transformed completely.

While Adrian managed his vast corporate empire and dealt with the remaining threats from the Volkov syndicate, I was provided with absolute luxury, safety, and respect. Every evening, Adrian spent hours with me in the library—talking about literature, history, and the quiet dreams I had buried during my five years with Trevor.
A profound, intense connection bloomed between us—a silent, burning passion built on mutual trust and fierce protection.
Then, on a cold Thursday afternoon, Adrian walked into the library carrying a thick leather folder.
He set the folder flat on the mahogany desk between us.
"Your ex-boyfriend, Trevor Ashford, has been busy, Camilla," Adrian announced softly, taking a seat across from me.
I opened the folder. Inside were financial records, bank statements, and private emails detailing Trevor’s commercial real estate firm, Ashford Development.
"Trevor didn't just cheat on you with Harper Lane, malaya," Adrian revealed, his gray eyes flashing with a cold, razor-sharp focus. "Over the last three years, he systematically transferred your late father's inheritance trust—totaling four million dollars—into Harper's offshore shell accounts."
My breath hitched in my throat. Tears of pure, cold rage burned behind my eyes as I read the forged signature lines on my father's estate trust documents.
"He stole my father's legacy..." I choked out, my hands trembling violently against the desk.

Adrian stood up, walking around the desk, pulling me gently up from my chair into his broad, warm arms. He wrapped his strong frame around me, holding me tight against his chest, his breath warm against my hair.
"He took your money, Camilla," Adrian promised into my hair, his deep baritone carrying an absolute, terrifying vow. "And tonight... we are going to take his entire company."
