Chapter 7 - The True LegacyThe wedding took place in the private garden behind the estate, surrounded by five hundred guests, blooming white roses, and the serene sound of the ocean waves crashing against the cliffs below.

There were no weapons, no dark shadows, and no secrets.

Hunter walked down the aisle on the arm of Mateo, wearing a breathtaking lace gown that flowed around her like water. When she reached me at the altar, holding my hands under the clear blue sky, I knew that the dark world I had inherited was finally redeemed.

"I, Lorenzo Rossi," I vowed, sliding the gold band onto her finger, "take you, Hunter Higgins, to be my wife. I promise to protect you, honor you, and love you through every storm and every sunrise."

"And I, Hunter Higgins," she whispered, her eyes shining with unconditional love, "take you, Lorenzo Rossi, to be my husband. You gave my grief a purpose, my heart a home, and my life a family."

When the priest pronounced us husband and wife, I pulled Hunter into my arms, kissing her deeply as our guests erupted into thunderous applause.

Later that evening, as the sun set over the Long Island sound, casting brilliant hues of orange and purple across the sky, Hunter and I stood near the edge of the terrace.

In my arms was Leo, fast asleep, resting his warm face against my shoulder.

In Hunter’s hand was a single, beautiful white lily flower.

We walked together down the stone steps to a quiet, serene marble bench near the edge of the garden, where a delicate stone monument had been erected in memory of her daughter, surrounded by white blossoms.

Hunter knelt down, placing the lily gently at the base of the stone.

"Thank you, Lily," Hunter whispered softly into the gentle evening breeze. "You led me to them."

I knelt beside her, wrapping my free arm around her shoulders, holding her and our son tight against my chest.

For years, I believed that power was built through fear, blood, and vengeance. But standing there with my wife and son, watching the stars begin to twinkle in the calm night sky, I realized the truth.
