Elena sat by the window, watching the endless sea of white fluff pass silently beneath the wing. The morning sun caught the platinum band on her left ring finger—a simple, elegant band designed by Marcus, forged without diamonds, representing a partnership built entirely on truth, transparency, and mutual respect.

Across the aisle, Harrison was fast asleep in a plush leather seat, clutching a new wooden elephant toy, his chest rising and falling in peaceful rhythm.

Marcus leaned over, setting a steaming mug of tea on the tray table beside her. He reached out and gently covered her hand with his.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Marcus asked softly, his hazel eyes filled with warmth.

Elena turned her head and looked at him, a small, genuine smile touching the corners of her lips. She thought back to the freezing Connecticut driveway, the empty nursery, the white roses, and the moment she signed away a nightmare disguised as a marriage.
