Chapter 7 - The Garden of New BeginningsSpring returned to Chicago with an explosion of color, warm sunshine, and blooming cherry blossoms along the lakefront.

Four months later, the private courtyard of our Lincoln Park estate was transformed into a sunlit paradise of white roses, cascading greenery, and soft acoustic melodies playing in the background. There were no press photographers, no corrupt politicians, and no toxic family members whispering poison behind our backs.

Just our closest friends—Maya, Dante, Elena, and my parents, who finally knew the whole truth and stood proudly by our side.

I stood in front of the full-length mirror in the master suite, wearing a flowing, ivory silk gown that gently embraced my full, eight-month pregnant belly. I wasn't hiding anything anymore. My skin glowed with health, my eyes were bright, and the little life inside me kicked rhythmically against my palm as if saying hello to the world.

The bedroom door clicked open, and Luke stepped inside. He was dressed in a classic black tuxedo, looking breathtakingly handsome, though his tie was slightly crooked.

He stopped dead in his tracks, staring at me in the mirror. For a second, his breath caught in his throat.

“Sophia,” he whispered, walking up behind me, wrapping his arms gently around my waist, resting his palms over the gentle curve of our child. “You take my breath away every single day.”

“You say that just because I finally let you pick the dessert menu,” I teased, turning around in his arms to look up into his face.

“I say it because you saved me from myself,” Luke murmured, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to my forehead. “Are you ready?”

“More than ready.”

We walked down the grand staircase together, hand in hand, stepping out into the sunlit courtyard where our guests rose to their feet with warm applause.

It wasn't a wedding. It was a vow renewal—a real one this time, written in our own words, forged in the fires of survival, betrayal, and unyielding love.

As Luke slid a brand-new platinum band onto my finger, matching the one I placed on his, the afternoon breeze rustled the leaves of the old oak trees above us.

I looked out at the faces of the people who truly loved us, feeling the steady, powerful heartbeat of the man holding my hand and the precious life growing beneath my heart.

The darkness that had once haunted the Morgan name was gone, washed away by truth and time. We had walked through the fire, and we had come out on the other side untouchable—not because of fear, but because of love.

And as Luke pulled me close for our first official dance as true partners, I knew the rest of our story was going to be nothing short of a masterpiece.
