Chapter 5 - The Sunrise CouncilAt 6:00 AM, as the first golden rays of sunrise broke through the storm clouds over Lake Michigan, the grand marble boardroom atop the fifty-story Vale Global Tower in downtown Chicago was packed to absolute capacity.

Over forty senior syndicate capos, commercial logistics magnates, high-society attorneys, and corporate board members sat around the massive forty-foot carved mahogany table beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.

Standing at the head of the table, holding a stack of forged proxy petitions, was Salvatore Moretti—the senior council elder who had secretly backed Victor's coup.

"Gentlemen," Salvatore announced into the microphone, his voice dripping with hypocritical sorrow, "we are gathered here at dawn to officially declare Don Adrian Vale unfit to lead due to the total abandonment of his matrimonial agreement and his ongoing physical—"

BOOM!

The heavy double reinforced steel doors of the grand boardroom were thrown open with a violent, hydraulic impact!

The chatter of forty corporate executives vanished into an absolute, speech-bound silence.

Rolling down the central red-carpeted aisle, flanked by Chief Security Director Marcus Vance and four federal marshals, was Adrian Vale.

He wore a dark, custom-tailored black tuxedo, his broad shoulders squared, his severe, handsome face radiating an untouchable, sovereign authority that dropped the room's temperature to absolute zero.

And walking right beside him, wearing a breathtaking floor-length dark navy silk gown, her dark hair falling in glossy waves over her shoulders, her chin held high with unshakeable grace, was me.

Salvatore Moretti dropped his glass of water.

CRASH!

The glass shattered flat against the parquet floorboards, water splashing over his designer shoes. His face went from arrogant red to an ugly, paper-white shade of green.

"A-ADRIAN...?! MRS. VALE?!" Salvatore stammered, taking two panicked steps backward against his chair. "WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?! VICTOR SAID—"

"Victor is currently sitting in a federal holding cell facing thirty years to life for treason, kidnapping, and attempted murder, Salvatore," Adrian announced flatly, his deep baritone carrying cleanly across the vast room, dropping the temperature to zero.

Bridget Colton stepped forward, sliding a thick stack of court-stamped legal notices flat into Salvatore’s trembling hands:

SOVEREIGN PROXY RATIFICATION: Certified legal registration of the joint administrative equity held by Donna Claire Bennett-Vale, permanently locking fifty-one percent controlling common stock under Don Adrian Vale.

THE PURGE OF THE COUNCIL: Federal arrest warrants served on Salvatore Moretti, Julian Blake, and six corrupt board members for Interstate Wire Fraud, Embezzlement, and Criminal Conspiracy.

IMMEDIATE ASSET SEIZURE: Permanent forfeiture of all private shipping berths held by the rogue capos.

"THIS IS UNLAWFUL!" Salvatore shrieked, thrashing as two uniformed federal marshals stepped forward with heavy steel handcuffs. "YOU CAN'T SEIZE OUR BERTHS! SHE WAS JUST A TWELVE-DOLLAR-AN-HOUR CLEANER!"

"She is my wife," Adrian corrected deadpan, his grey eyes flashing with a lethal, magnificent fire. "And she owns your company."

Salvatore and his conspirators thrashed and wept hysterical, pathetic tears as marshals locked steel cuffs around their wrists, dragging them out of the Vale Tower in total, public disgrace, while television news cameras captured their complete downfall for the morning news.
