Chapter 5 - The Unmasking of the TraitorsMarcus Vance stepped onto the stage, tapping a tablet screen that synced directly to the ballroom’s forty-foot video presentation monitors.

High-definition audio and video files exploded across the screens:
DR. HARRISON’S CONFESSION: A recorded video showing the chief physician detailing Julian’s two-million-dollar bribe to fabricate Theo’s terminal neurological diagnosis.
THE WIRETRANSFERS: Certified banking records showing thirty million dollars moving from Harrington accounts directly to Dominic Vance’s offshore entities.
THE AUDIO LOGS: Clear satellite recordings of Julian and Dominic discussing the liquidation of Alexander’s assets once the baby died.
The five hundred elite guests erupted into screaming, frantic chaos.
Julian thrashed his hands frantically. "THAT'S FABRICATED EVIDENCE! HE'S A MOBSTER! YOU CAN'T TRUST HIM!"
Dominic Vance pulled a concealed firearm from his tuxedo jacket, aiming it straight at Alexander's chest. "GET OUT OF MY WAY!"
Before Dominic could pull the trigger, Marcus Vance fired two rapid, suppressed rounds from the side aisle.
PFFT-PFFT!
Dominic shrieked in pain, dropping his pistol as the rounds disabled his shoulder. He collapsed onto his knees on the carpet, clutching his bleeding arm.
Four armed Federal Marshals stepped through the double doors, holding heavy steel handcuffs.
"Julian Harrington and Dominic Vance," Lead Marshal Miller declared. "You are under arrest for Attempted Murder of an Infant, Systemic Wire Fraud, Corporate Embezzlement, and Conspiracy."
CLICK. CLICK.
The cold steel cuffs locked tightly around Julian’s wrists behind his back.
Julian thrashed wildly, weeping hysterical, pathetic pleas as federal marshals dragged him and Dominic down the central aisle toward the exit in total, public disgrace.
Serves them right, Theo’s sharp, clear thought chimed inside my head as he looked at the arrested men. Don't touch my daddy's company.
I let out a quiet, soft laugh, holding Theo close against my chest.

Alexander turned to me, his storm-gray eyes burning with absolute victory, profound relief, and unbroken love. He wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me and our baby close against his broad chest.
"It's over, Ella," Alexander whispered into my hair. "We brought our family home."
