Chapter 5 - The Confrontation in the BallroomThe grand ballroom of the Moretti Estate was decorated with crystal chandeliers, white roses, and sunlit champagne for what was supposed to be the pre-wedding dinner between the Moretti and Romano syndicates.

Twenty-eight-year-old Isabella Romano—wearing an expensive silver silk gown, holding a glass of vintage champagne—stood near the central fireplace talking with four senior board members.
"Dante will be down shortly, gentlemen," Isabella lied smoothly, adjusting her diamond necklace. "His afternoon migraines were particularly severe today, but as his future wife, I will be signing the secondary harbor lease agreements on his behalf."
BOOM!
The massive twelve-foot carved mahogany double doors at the rear of the grand ballroom were thrown open with a sharp, heavy force that made the crystal chandeliers rattle above.
The forty guests went dead, breathlessly quiet.
Walking down the central carpeted aisle, flanked by Marco and thirty broad-shouldered Moretti security operators clad in dark tactical gear, was Dante Moretti.
His dark hair was trimmed short, revealing a neat white surgical dressing at the base of his neck. His posture was broad, tall, six-foot-two, and sovereign, his storm-gray eyes holding a lethal, freezing fire that dropped the room's temperature below zero.
And walking directly beside his right shoulder, holding five-year-old Sophie by her small hand, wearing a clean midnight-blue dress, her posture straight, her hazel eyes holding zero fear, was Anna.
Isabella Romano dropped her champagne glass.
