Chapter 4 - The Unmasking at the PortAt 2:30 PM, the fifty-floor glass tower of Volkov Global Logistics overlooking the Baltimore Inner Harbor was packed to absolute capacity.

Inside the grand executive boardroom, twenty-four senior syndicate capos, commercial port directors, and high-society attorneys sat around a forty-foot mahogany table beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.

Sitting at the head of the table in handcuffs, guarded by four federal marshals, was Victor Volkov.

Beside him stood his corrupt lead attorney, Richard Sterling, who was frantically trying to persuade the board to sign a temporary proxy agreement before the federal indictments were formally unsealed.

"Gentlemen!" Sterling shouted, waving a stack of papers. "Whatever personal legal troubles Mr. Victor Volkov is currently facing, the shipping lines must continue to operate! Under Clause Nine of the charter, we must immediately elect an interim Chairman—"

BOOM!

The heavy double glass doors of the boardroom were blown wide open with a violent, hydraulic impact!

The chatter in the room died instantly. Twenty-four men stood up in utter, speech-bound shock.

Walking down the central aisle, flanked by Marcus Vance and ten armed security officers, was Damian Volkov.

He wore an magnificent charcoal bespoke suit, his broad six-foot-four frame squared, his severe, handsome face radiating a terrifying, sovereign authority that dropped the room's temperature to absolute zero.

And walking right beside Damian, holding his hand with a quiet, regal poise, was me, wearing a tailored dark navy silk dress.

Carried comfortably in my other arm was four-year-old Lila, wearing her pastel-blue dress, holding her stuffed rabbit, looking around the grand room with bright, curious hazel eyes.

Victor Volkov dropped his head against the table, a strangled, pathetic groan escaping his lips. His lawyer’s jaw sagged open, the legal papers slipping from his trembling fingers and scattering across the carpet.

"D-Damian...?!" one of the oldest port directors gasped out, his hands shaking. "YOU'RE ALIVE?!"

"I am very much alive, Gentlemen," Damian announced flatly, his deep baritone echoing cleanly off the high glass walls, carrying a weight that made every man in the room lower his eyes in absolute respect. "And the era of Victor Volkov’s treachery is permanently ended."

Bridget Colton—senior corporate litigator for the estate—stepped forward, projecting high-definition evidence onto the boardroom's massive video displays:

THE TOXICOLOGY AUDIT: Certified medical reports and video footage proving Victor Volkov systematically poisoned Damian with thallium over a six-week period.

THE EMBEZZLEMENT AUDIT: Bank registries documenting eighty million dollars stolen by Victor from corporate logistics trusts.

THE SOVEREIGN RATIFICATION: Formal legal execution transferring fifty percent of all voting shares in Volkov Global directly into an irrevocable trust under the name of Lila Carter, making the four-year-old girl the sole legitimate heir to the multi-billion-dollar maritime empire.

The twenty-four port directors and capos stood up in unanimous agreement, raising their hands to ratify Damian's absolute control, permanently banishing Victor’s faction from the city of Baltimore forever.

Lead Marshal Miller stepped forward, holding heavy enforcement notices.

"Victor Volkov," Marshal Miller declared coldly. "You are being transferred to a federal maximum-security facility to await trial for Attempted Premeditated Murder, Systemic Wire Fraud, and High-Treason."

Victor wept hysterical, groveling pleas as marshals dragged him out of the Volkov Tower in total, public disgrace, surrounded by news cameras capturing his complete downfall for the evening news.
