Chapter 5 - The Confession of Harrison SterlingVictoria Sterling did not scream. She did not call security.

Instead, she locked her executive doors, dismissed her administrative assistant for the next two hours, and sat in her leather armchair, staring at me with wide, unblinking eyes as Julian laid out the entire forensic dossier across her desk.

Birth certificates. Adoption broker affidavits. DNA test results confirming a 99.999% identical match between us. And finally, our mother Margaret’s deathbed journal entries.

For over an hour, Victoria read through the documents in stunned, horrific silence. Tears tracked down her cheeks, ruining her expensive makeup, but she didn't wipe them away. The pristine, untouchable corporate heiress was dissolving, layer by layer, revealing the hurt, betrayed young woman underneath.

"Grandfather..." Victoria whispered, her voice shaking with rage as she slammed the adoption broker's affidavit onto the desk. "He told me my parents died in a private plane crash when I was an infant. He told me I was the last remaining heir of the Sterling bloodline... and he raised me to be a soldier in his corporate army."

"He raised you to be a weapon," Julian corrected gently. "A tool to control his empire without ever letting you know whose blood he spilled to get you."

Victoria looked up at me, her hazel eyes swimming with tears. She reached across the desk, her hand trembling as she touched my fingers. "You... you lived on the streets? In the snow?"

"For eight months," I admitted quietly. "While he sat in his Greenwich fortress drinking Scotch."

Victoria’s expression hardened into a terrifying, obsidian mask of absolute fury. The same Sterling fire that had caused our mother to reject a billion-dollar empire for love was now igniting in my twin sister's veins.

"He's hosting the annual Sterling Global Charity Gala this Saturday night at his Greenwich estate," Victoria said, her voice dropping an octave into a cold, lethal register. "Every major investor, federal judge, and elite politician in the Northeast will be there. He expects me to stand by his side as his proud successor."

She looked at me, a sharp, triumphant smile touching her lips.

"Do you want to crash the party?"

May you like

Julian Vance leaned back in his chair, a slow, predatory grin spreading across his face.

"Oh, we aren't just going to crash the party, Victoria," Julian said softly. "We're going to shut down the kingdom."
