Chapter 6 - The Gala at the PlazaIn late September 2026, the grand ballroom of the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan was packed to absolute capacity for the annual DeLuca Global Civic & Humanitarian Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.

Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing an magnificent charcoal bespoke tuxedo, was Lorenzo De Luca. His broad shoulders were squared, his severe face radiating an unshakeable, sovereign authority and a profound, radiant peace.

Beside him stood my mother, Isabella Wilson, looking radiant in an emerald silk evening gown.

Standing on Lorenzo’s right, wearing a breathtaking floor-length ivory silk dress that celebrated my tall, graceful figure, holding the silver rose pendant proudly against my chest, was me.

Lorenzo adjusted the microphone, his deep, resonant baritone echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:

"Twenty years ago, a dark lie stole the people I loved most from my life," Lorenzo announced to the silent room, his gray eyes shining with deep, genuine pride as he looked at my mother and me. "And then a brave young woman played four notes on a piano in a dark nightclub... and taught me that true royalty isn't built on fear... it is built on truth, maternal courage, and unbroken love."

Lorenzo held his champagne glass high under the glittering lights.
