Chapter 7 - A New Horizon and Happily Ever AfterLater that evening, long after the gala had concluded and the last guests had departed into the warm spring night, Audrey walked out onto the private stone balcony of her penthouse overlooking the glittering expanse of the East River.

The water below caught the reflection of the Manhattan skyline—thousands of lights burning bright, steady, and unbroken.
A pair of warm arms wrapped gently around her waist from behind, and a familiar voice spoke softly near her ear.
“You gave an incredible speech tonight, Audrey,” Alexander said, resting his chin lightly on her shoulder.
Audrey leaned back against him, letting out a long, relaxed breath. She held a glass of champagne in her hand, the bubbles catching the moonlight.
“Thanks, Alex,” she murmured, smiling as she looked out at the city lights. “It feels good to finally breathe fresh air in this town.”
“Well, you earned every inch of it,” Alexander said, kissing the top of her head. “The board meetings are adjourned, the federal investigations are closed, and Caldwell Enterprises is officially nothing more than a cautionary chapter in a business textbook. What’s next for the great architect?”
Audrey took a slow sip of her champagne, feeling the crisp, clean taste on her tongue.
“I’m building something new,” she said, her eyes fixed on the horizon where the sun was beginning to paint the early morning sky in brilliant shades of gold and amber. “Something real. Something that can't be bought, forged, or stolen.”
“And what’s that?” Alexander asked with a smile.
Audrey turned in his arms, lifting her glass toward the skyline in a silent, victorious toast.

And for the first time in her life, the future belonged entirely to her.
