Chapter 6 - The Festival of RestorationIn late September 2026, the grand ballroom of the Plaza Hotel in Chicago was packed to absolute capacity for the annual Vance Global Civic & Health Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, federal prosecutors, and high-society matriarchs gathered beneath sparkling crystal chandeliers.
Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing an magnificent charcoal bespoke tuxedo, was Elias Vance. My broad six-foot-three frame was squared, my severe, handsome face radiating an unshakeable, sovereign authority and a profound, radiant peace.
Beside me stood six-month-old Hannah and Grace, sitting happily in a sunlit velvet double stroller, while Clara stood at my side looking radiant in an emerald silk evening gown.
I adjusted the microphone, my deep, resonant baritone echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:
"Eight months ago, I believed that a man's legacy was written in the territory he commanded," I announced to the silent room, my dark eyes shining with deep, genuine pride. "And then a brave young woman was left on my doorstep in a freezing blizzard... and taught me that true royalty isn't built on power... it is built on blood, maternal courage, and unbroken love."
I held my champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To my Co-Chairwoman, my cousin, and the queen of our family: Clara Vance-Moretti!"
"To Clara!" the entire room erupted into a warm, unanimous standing ovation, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
