Chapter 6 - Reclaiming the CrownSix months later.

The autumn sun bathed the sprawling gardens of the Morales estate in a warm, golden radiance, turning the changing leaves into a brilliant mosaic of amber, copper, and deep red.
I stood on the stone veranda overlooking the manicured lawns, holding a cup of freshly brewed artisan tea. My tablet rested on the iron table beside me, displaying the morning financial reports for our newly restructured global investment portfolio.
Under my direct, uncompromising leadership, the company hadn't just survived the internal betrayal; it had flourished beyond all historical benchmarks. We had expanded our green energy initiatives, launched a massive philanthropic foundation supporting female entrepreneurs in tech, and fortified our corporate governance protocols so thoroughly that no interloper could ever breach our defenses again.
The heavy glass doors behind me slid open softly.
Commander Hector stepped onto the veranda, holding a sealed manila envelope bearing the red wax seal of the federal prison authority.
“Morning, Mrs. Morales,” Hector greeted respectfully, using my maiden name—the only name that had ever truly belonged to me. 🇻🇳
“Good morning, Hector,” I smiled, taking a sip of my tea. “What’s that?”
“Final documentation from the federal restitution bureau,” Hector answered, placing the envelope on the table. “Ethan’s remaining personal assets—including his private bank accounts, secondary vehicle, and liquidated personal belongings—have been officially auctioned off. The proceeds have been credited back to the corporate foundation.”
I looked down at the envelope, feeling absolutely nothing. No lingering bitterness. No phantom pain from the past.
“Close the ledger, Hector,” I said quietly, looking out toward the endless horizon where the blue sky met the green expanse of the estate. “We don't look backward anymore.”
“Understood, ma'am,” Hector nodded, a faint smile touching his lips. “By the way, the board members from the Zurich investment summit have landed. They’re waiting for you in the boardroom.”
“Tell them I’ll be there in five minutes,” I replied.
I turned away from the veranda, walked back into the grand salon, and caught my reflection in the polished gold-trimmed mirror above the fireplace.
The woman staring back at me wasn't the naive, trusting wife who had believed in fairy tales and polished suits. She was a billionaire architect of her own destiny, a fierce protector of her legacy, and a queen who had burned her enemies to ash and built an unbreakable empire upon their remains.

I smoothed down the lapels of my ivory blazer, adjusted my diamond necklace, and stepped forward with a stride of absolute, unyielding power.
The game was over. And I had won it all.
